- Memory Card Installation - 2 MB
-
- The memory card hold the picture data, similar to film in a regular
- camera.
-
- This is a small card, about .5" x .5" x .08" so it is delicate to
- handle.
-
- Instructions say to avoid touching the exposed circuitry on the
- memory card, so care is needed.
-
- Each memory card comes with two labels that have adhesive on one side,
- similar to 1.4MB floppy disks. One end of the memory card has a slant
- cut on the edge. The label should be pasted on the other end of the
- memory card within the outline stamped into the memory card for the
- label.
-
- You can write an identification on the labels. The procedure is to
- write a very short description of the memory module, and then peel a
- label from the packaging and carefully paste it onto the memory
- module.
-
- After the memory card is labeled, it has to be installed in the
- camera.
-
- The memory card slot is sort of evident, but it is harder to open the
- cover than might be expected, i.e., more force is needed.
-
- The memory card slot cover is on the side of the camera where the
- carrying sling is attached, and the opposite end from where batteries
- are installed. The Cover hinge is visible on the side. Holding the
- camera with thumb and fore finger on the top and bottom use a finger
- nail to pull up and back toward the cover hinge to open the cover.

- Fotobee Software
-
- There is a CD. Installed it in...
-
- h: 00 40
-
-
- It produced an icon for Fotobee, and another for editing pictures.
-
- Another icon was for signing up for 5 MB of web space to store
- pictures. Since we have JPS, we removed this icon.
-
- Also removed the other two icons, since the programs are listed in
- the Program menu and can be launched from there.
-
- Basic steps...
-
- 1. Plug the serial pin into an open serial connection port on
- the back of the computer.
-
- 2. Plug the other end into the top port on the side of the
- camera. There is a lower port for a male connection below
- the female port where this connection is needed. Use the
- female port.
-
- 3. Slide the on off switch on the camera to "on," and let it
- slip back to normal position. In other words, the switch
- simply is slid to the on position and then released, so it
- slips back to the off position. You know the camera is
- "on" becasue the LED panel lights up with some text.
-
- 4. Press the PC button and release it.
-
- These steps set up the camera for downloading pictures to
- the Fotobee program. They sometimes have to be repeated.
-
- 5. Fotobee program -- open from Fotobee directory under
- Programs in Start.
-
- 6. Select "Index" from the menu bar. It is the second option
- next to "Ping" and below "Camera" on the main menu. It is
- not labeled, but when the pointer is on the button, "Index"
- appears on the screen.
-
- This will load an index of pictures on the camera to the
- current window. It can take a few seconds for this to
- occur.
-
- 7. After the index appears on the screen, which is a series of
- small pictures, double click on a picture to show its full
- size.
-
- 8. Save any picture you want to keep to the following
- directory.
-
- Click on the File menu on the main menu bar.
-
- Click "Save-as"
-
- Change the filetype to JPG (this is not essential).
