- Visited court 415 553 9356
-
- Per the summons ref DRT 1 line 12, I reported to:
-
- Jury Assembly Room #307
- Hall of Justice
- 850 Bryant Street
- San Francisco, CA 94103

- Presiding Judge: Honorable Stuart R. Pollak
-
- Juror ID: 513 24 650 215
-
- The jury room manager explained procedures for selection from the jury
- room pool and requirements for reporting over the next 2 weeks. This
- clarified instructions on the printed handout about receiving a color
- and call in time for reporting back to the jury room.
-
- She recommended writing down the Stand-by call-in number:
-
- 864 3030
-
- ...and a separate number to call for instructions that bypasses

- Writing to Remember
-
- She repeated the suggestion to write down supplemental instructions
- because jurors often forget the procedures which can result in court

- by writing it down.

-
- Jury Duty Every 24 Months
-
- She recommended keeping the Trial Jury Summons, so we have a record to
- cite if we receive another summons within the next 24 months. In that
- case, we can enter the juror number and appearance date to be excused,
- since citizens are only required to serve every 24 months.
-
-
- Court Administration Error
-
- After getting verbal instructions, I approached the juror receiving
- administrator and pointed out my service last year. She looked at her
- records on a computer screen and said they did not show I had served
- last year. I booted up my notebook computer, which I had taken to use
- during waiting periods, and showed where I was empaneled on 950131,
- ref SDS 3 line 39, and was then the first juror chosen, per ref SDS 5
- line 66, and the letter I wrote to judge in the case, ref SDS 7 line
- 35, in the matter of:
-
- Valentine v. Baxter, case 943437
-
- The administrator was able to look up my service based on this case
- number. She said the problem was that somone has transposed my juror
- assignment number from the original summons shown at ref DRP 1 line
- 22. I explained the advantage of having a variety of ways to organize
- information so it can be accessed for quickly.
-
- I filled out a form and was excused for at least the next year.
