- Summary/Objective
-
- Followed up work at ref SDS 30 line 92. See note about single
- failure over several days of testing, ref SDS 30 line 168.
-
- He has not seen anything in config.sys. He configured a lab system
- with ATI controller and 8514 video drivers. This indicated that our
- config.sys was correct.
-
- On the basis of this report, I think we can now try the new ATI
- drivers again. My only concern is that I do not really notice a
- lot of difference between IBM's 8514 driver and the earlier ATI
- drivers that worked correctly. [Except see below]
-
-
- Since I have been working for several hours, I tried the Windows PM
- while talking to Tim. It booted successfully. I then did an SF on
- the C: drive, to use the disk extensively. I then opened Wordperfect
- and it worked okay.
-
- On the basis of this experience, I conclude that this problem is
- solved. There has been a report of Windows not booting per ref SDS 30
- line 168, during the test period, but I conclude that it is within the
- operating characteristics of os2, rather than a defect.
-
- Tim will enter this problem as solved.
-
- Problem Not Solved
-
- [Actually the work a few days later at ref SDS 32 line 92, indicat-
- es the problem is not solved. We have had continued failures, and
- it appears to be another situation like Omnipage, ref SDS 15 line
- 74. This was reported to Tim at ref SDS 33 line 25.]

- He agreed to support the use of SDS within IBM as a much better man-
