0709 - Summary/Objective
0710 -
071001 - Installed updated software. Updated autoexec.bat, by changing the
071002 - call to load DOS printer command to:
071003 -
071004 - printer.exe /d:com1
071005 -
071006 - This worked.
071007 -
071008 - Still have a problem loading the fonts, because fl.exe only seems to
071009 - work for lpt1. I called Morris about it, and left message we need to
071010 - change that.
071011 -
071012 - Also need to laod the "j" macro, and modify 0450431, so it calls it
071013 - similar to what I did for Wayne, ref SDS 2 line 060701.
071014 -
071015 -
071016 - Looks like some Helps files are missing from Denis SDS program, pos-
071017 - sibly due to the system crashes that occurred when his hardware con-
071018 - sultant updated his system, see ref SDS 1 line 060630.
071019 -
071020 - What is happening is that when some Help cites are called, since they
071021 - are not on the disk, the program crashes. The code is running cor-
071022 - rectly for those Help files that exist.
071023 -
071024 - I need to install Help in total again.
071025 -
071026 -
0711 -
0712 -
0713 - 2105 called Morris
0714 -
071401 - He will look for fl.exe code and try to develop a switch to load the
071402 - code over a specified port.
071403 -
071404 - I found his code under:
071405 -
071406 - c: 00 18 06
071407 -
071408 -
071409 -
0715 -
0716 -
0717 - 2255 Morris called back
0718 -
071801 - Had difficulty transferring via pcAnywhere. The program kept
071802 - crashing, similar to what occurred with transfers to DNRC a few months
071803 - ago. So tried the modem routine in Windows. It is "Terminal" icon
071804 - under "Acessories" Morris helped me configure to his settings. First
071805 - had to make settings for "communications" for com3. When it opened
071806 - this option window the first time, com3, was not shown as available.
071807 - We then opened pcAnywhere configuration settings which show com3,
071808 - closed it, and then when Windows Settings for Communications was
071809 - opened, com3 was an option I could set. We also had to set the com3
071810 - baud rate to 2400 in the "Port" window under "Control Panel".
071811 -
071812 - Transferred fl.c and fl.mak to Morris. He examined the file, and
071813 - decided it would be pretty difficult to create switches to specify a
071814 - port.
071815 -
071816 - Decided to try changing fl.bat so it uses mode command to redirect
071817 - output to lpt1, to com1.
071818 -
071819 -
071820 -
071821 - mode com1:9600,n,8,1
071822 - mode lpt1=com1
071823 - fl c:\SD\01\flist >nul
071824 - mode lpt1
071825 -
071826 -
071827 - ...we may not really need the mode com1:9600, etc., line. It may
071828 - already be in the autoexec.bat file, since when I tried printing
071829 - today, it worked well.
