0708 - Single User SDS
0709 -
070901 - Found in the testing yesterday, ref SDS 2 line 052301, that Schedule
070902 - menu in Single User version is crashing. Turns out we do not seem to
070903 - have a Single User directory.
070904 -
070905 - Designed a new directory structure for storing the User program
070906 - versions, which reflects the SDS product definition.
070907 -

0711 -
0712 - Analysis
0713 -
071301 - It appears that there is no directory for Single User version. The
071302 - directory structure created at ref SDS 1 line 081331, is incorrect in
071303 - using g: sd 54 as a constant level under which are levels 01 - 04,
071304 - representing different SDS versions. This structure is not reflected
071305 - in the Subject Index for SDS, and was not my actual intent, in that
071306 - the SI shows g: sd 53 is the corporate SDS version. So this evening I
071307 - will try to create something sensible and comprehensive that leaves
071308 - room for program growth.
071309 -
071310 - Actually this analysis is incorrect. The current structure set
071311 - out at ref SDS 1 line 081331 does NOT show that the files for the
071312 - various program versions are stored in separate directories under
071313 - g: sd 54. It merely shows that the final zip files created from
071314 - the actual program files, are in directory g: sd 54. I think what
071315 - happened is that I coded 0815 and maks.bat from a structure I
071316 - created and maintained in my head, and so it has never been fully
071317 - formulated and correlated with the Subject Index. Could be it was
071318 - necessary to do the initial run ad hoc, to draw out all of the
071319 - parts of the structure, ref SDS 1 line 081704, and ref SDS 1 line
071320 - 082612.
071321 -
071322 - This causes a problem of not having adequately clear organization
071323 - of various SDS program versions, and so I created the following
071324 - new Subject Index directory structure for SDS User programs:
071325 -
071326 - SDS User Program Directory Structure
071327 -
071328 - g: SD 50 User Programs for Color, stored in Zip format
071329 -
071330 - Files created by maks.bat as of 920901. We just copy
071331 - them to a disk to make the program, instead of doing the
071332 - backup, as we used to do.
071333 -
071334 - g: SD 51 Executive, Color
071335 -
071336 - Executive Services, Multi-User, Coordination and Extract
071337 - for Transfer.
071338 -
071339 - g: SD 52 Corporate, Color
071340 -
071341 - Multi-User, Coordination and Extract for Transfer.
071342 -
071343 - g: SD 53 Single User version, Color
071344 -
071345 - g: SD 54 Demonstration Executive version, Color
071346 -
071347 - Executive Services, Multi-User, Coordination and Extract
071348 - for Transfer, maximum 300 tasks.
071349 -
071350 - g: SD 60 Monochrome versions stored in Zip format
071351 -
071352 - Files created by maks.bat as of 920901. We just copy
071353 - them to a disk to make the program, instead of doing the
071354 - backup, as we used to do.
071355 -
071356 - g: SD 61 Executive, Monochrome
071357 - g: SD 62 Corporate, Monochrome
071358 - g: SD 63 Single User version, Monochrome
071359 -
071360 -
071361 - Process
071362 -
071363 - Will continue to maintain a single main set of User versions, and use
071364 - 0815 to modify the parts needed for the other versions, and place
071365 - those modified parts in their respective directories, as shown above.
071366 -
071367 - Maks.bat will then apply those parts to assemble the programs and
071368 - place in zip files in g: sd 50. This makes more sense because we can
071369 - have a correlation between the directory name and the User level,
071370 - where Executive is the main level, i.e. "01", because it has all of
071371 - the features.
