- Tankless Water Heater Repair Benefits Being Prepared Spare Parts
-
- Steve was fixing the water heater. It is a "tankless" real-time
- heating system that saves energy costs by heating water instantly, and
- only when needed, rather than pay to store hot water in a conventional
- tank.
- ..
- In conversation, related recent failure of water heater at Millie's
- place in Concord, and warranty work to replace it, reported on 110204
- 1030. ref SDS 20 UV5I Research at that time to find a replacement,
- ref SDS 20 AE4J, yielded guidance on "tankless water heaters," which
- sounds like the technology Steve is fixing today...
-
- http://www.rheem.com/products/tankless_water_heaters/
- ..
- Steve seemed to indicate that leaking was the primary problem to
- solve, and that solving the problem would require that he make a
- custom gasket.
- ..
- The water heater was out of production 10 years ago, when Steve and
- Lilly moved into their Grass Valley home. The manufacturer is out of
- business. At that time, Steve contacted a distributor and obtained a
- box of spare parts for making repairs. Now 10 years later, Steve's
- foresight and planning to "be prepared" paid off today. Training and
- experience servicing plumbing and heating equipment for PG&E customers
- the past 25 years, enabled Steve to disassemble, inspect and identify
- problems with this complex technology. He used the Internet to find
- and download product specifications and parts list that guided work on
- selecting appropriate spare parts from among inventory obtained 10
- years ago. Steve thoroughly cleaned the entire heating assembly. He
- used prudence to avoid damage to delicate elements which could not be
- easily disassembled for repair and replacement. Further research will
- look for direct guidance on manufacturer's recommendations.
- ..
- After getting the system fully reassembled, testing seems to show the
- tankless water heater now works normally. Very successful project.
- ..
- Lilly also consulted with positive effect making observations to
- assist Steve with the water heater project. ref SDS 0 EC5I She
- observed with a warm embrace benefits of having a partner like Steve
- who is not only trained and skilled, but also possessing imagination,
- energy, and determination to solve complex problems.
- ..
- Former Disney CEO, Michael Eisner, has written in a his book, "Why
- Great Partnerships Succeed," that a good marriage is the most
- important and productive partnership for success in the project of
- life. Steve and Lilly punctuate Eisner's point.

- On the whole, though, the institution of marriage -- life
- collaboration -- gets a lot more attention than the institution
- of business collaboration. But the benefits of working
- together -- of finding a partner -- are extraordinary.
- Partnerships promote common sense, a common purpose, and strong
- ethics. Think about how many of the world's most successful
- people have partners.

- Beneficiaries should receive distribution of funds according to terms

- Steve and Lilly have not seen the movie "Mildred Pierce," currently
