040901 - Bob was very emotional in his call this evening.  For a time, it was
040902 - hard to make out what he was saying.  He was despondent over mother's
040903 - lack of mobility compared to the lively woman he has known for 30

040907 - Bob said mother is not recovering.  She is eating a little more now,
040908 - but not enough to regain strength.  She got out of bed today, and
040909 - walked around the chair a couple times with help from the nurse.

040912 - The doctor said that mother cannot go home, because she needs
040913 - continuing professional care.  The doctor asked Bob for permission to
040914 - make arrangements for mother to be transferred to a convalesent home,
040915 - where she can get the level of care required.  Bob was very
040916 - disappointed about mother's slow progress, and worries that her lungs
040917 - and heart cannot last much longer.

040920 - Bob said that Eddie and Kathy drove down and visited with mother for
