Resolution for Case ID: 134100748
Dear Rod,
Thank you for contacting AT&T Internet Services Email Support.
Rod, I want to apologize for the issues that you are currently
experiencing with your AT&T Yahoo! Mail account. I will be more than happy to
assist you with your issue.
..
To make sure that all of your issues will be addressed, I have outlined
your concerns and provided their corresponding answers.
Sent and Received files should remain on the server until I expressly
delete them. This has been the practice for the past number years we
have used AT&T email service.
By default, your sent and received messages should stay inside your
Inbox folder. However, regarding your sent messages, let us make sure
that your AT&T Yahoo! Mail is set to save your sent messages. Kindly
verify the following:
..
Sign in to your AT&T Yahoo! Mail page.
Once inside your email page, click [Options] or [Mail Options]
located on the upper-right hand corner.
Go to [General Preferences].
Under [Folders/Search Results], make sure that the [Save your sent
messages in the Sent Items folder] box is checked.
Click [Save].
..
As for your received messages, the only reason why your messages are
being deleted inside your Inbox folder is if it is being downloaded by an
email client. In case you have an email client installed in your
computer(s), kindly check it and see if your messages are inside.
..
Also, we need to make sure that AT&T Yahoo! Mail is your default email
program. Since you are using Internet Explorer, we need to download a
small program so that you will be able to select [AT&T Yahoo! Mail] as
your default email program inside your Internet Options window. To
download the program, kindly visit this website:
..
By doing this, we will be sure that no email clients will open when you
access your AT&T Yahoo! Web Mail.
..
2. Time should be displayed along with the date for sent and
received documents.
..
Answer:
By default, the date and time are displayed once you open the messages.
Kindly open the message and then you will see the needed information
inside [Date:].
..
3. Email address should be displayed for addresses of sent mail, and
for people from whom mail is received.
..
Answer:
If the contact contains a nickname, it will be the one displayed under
[To:] inside your Sent folder. However, if it does not have a
nickname, its email address will be the one displayed under [To:].
..
4. Document identification header should not be corrupted with
extraneous fields. From, To, Subject Date are all we need.
..
Answer:
Normally, if you received a message with garbled header, the message
could be spam. Please click the [Spam] button in order to add the sender
inside your blocked addresses list. However, if the email comes from
one of your legitimate contacts or sender, it is possible that the
Yahoo! server has marked this sender as spammer. We need to take care of
this issue over the phone together with one of our helpdesk technical
support specialists.
..
5. Spell check does not seem to be working. Would like this set as
a default.
..
Answer:
Unfortunately, the Spell Check feature of your AT&T Yahoo! Mail is not
capable of automatically checking for misspelled words. After
composing your email, you will need to manually click the [ABC] button to
enable Spell Check to underline misspelled words.
..
This should take care of your issue. In case you need further
assistance, especially with regard to Question numbers 1 and 4, please do not
hesitate to call us anytime at 1-877-722-3755. We will be more than
glad to assist you. Please take note of Case ID 134100748 for future
